The PERFECT birthday party!

It was a very special day. Grandma and Grandpa Baker, Auntie Jennifer and cousin Autumn all came in town for the celebration. So having the family in town it was pretty much a 4 day celebration! I was up early and headed off to Lewisville to pick up the Disney Cars Cake. I was so nervous about the cake. I found a picture online and found a girl on facebook to bake it. Would she make the exact cake that I wanted?? She said she would - and she was right. It was a beautiful cake! I was so happy with it! It was also delicious! Thanks again to Gina Fogle for this peice of art. I would definitely reccomend her to anyone looking for an extremely talented baker.

This day was so much fun! Jacob was in such a good mood - all day. He even missed his daily nap from 11:30 -2:00 and he still was attitude-less. Lots of friends and family were all there to clelebrate. Renee and her family even drove in from Tyler! Dad made hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill and the kiddos were all swimming. Jacob received lots of nice presents. Jacob even took a couple of steps on his own! The Carter family is so very blessed. Thanks to everyone for all the love on my toddlers bday!! :)

The sweet things you do......

You have now learned to give kisses and it is the sweetest thing. I tell you - Give mommy a kiss - and you look at me, lean in (open mouthed) and plant one on my lips. Thank you my Jacob for your sweet kisses. :) :)

The life of a Guppie.

In the life of a Guppie you HATE wearing shoes! But - you do look SO cute in them!

This week Jacob begins his journey in Guppie land. In this class Jacob will wear socks and shoes daily, sleep on a mat not a crib anymore :( and eat tablefood. For me this means we do not bring bottles in the morning because he will be drinking whole milk instead. These saving should be significant once he is completely switched over to whole milk. It is a week of transition for Jacob and myself. As I reflect back on the year I am certain that this is without a doubt the most difficult year of my life. Before the baby is born you mentally try and prepare yourself but this is not even close to the reality of how it will be and the changes soon to come. However, within all of the craziness there is something about when those big blue eyes look at me that is just irresistible. The love is unconditional and the bond between my Jacob and I has been there since day 1. He is gods great work and I am so so grateful for this love and connection between my Jacob and I. 4 days till the party!!!

Jacobs Daddy :)

Jacobs Daddy is my husband and bestfriend. Today is Friday the 13th. Unlucky for most but lucky for me. On Friday the 13th (of October 06) I was proposed to by Jacob's Daddy. This was such a happy day. A day were I became part of a wonderful family. A wonderful family who with open arms has accepted me. I am proud to be part of his family now and even more proud that Jacob has such a wonderful family. This morning as we were getting Jacob ready for school Albert said to me , " I cant wait till we get to Florida and get to spend some family time together. We may be broke but atleast we will have time and we will have eachother." Thank you - my love, my husband, and Jacobs Daddy for being the best there is and for doing everything you do to make our life the best you can. Your heart is one of gold and all of your kind words mean SO much.

In 11 days Jacob will be ONE!

YOU are my angel Jacob. I cant wait to watch you grow. Your smiles and hugs bring a happiness to me that I never knew existed. Mommy and Daddy loves ya and we are ALWAYS here for you! :)

What a weekend!!

It was SO nice to have my husband off this weekend! Friday we packed more boxes! Things are clearing out but we still have a ways to go. Paula is coming over Wednesday to preview our home so things must look decent! Saturday was Jacobs first haircut. He did so good! I wanted to grow his hair long but it was getting in his eyes and coming down over his ears. I am so proud of him. All the ladies in the salon were complimenting. He was sitting in mommys lap and stayed quiet the whole time. Miss Jennifer did a fantastic job! Jacob did so good that afterward we went to build-a-bear and made him a present! Sunday was a beautiful HOT day! Jacob had his 1 year old pics and we scheduled them early because we wanted to go to the park. We got to to the park (I'm already sweating) put Jacob in the grass and begged him to smile........yeah not so much! We probably should have put him in grass sometime before we took him to have his pictures done in the grass!! He was freaked out by the grass! Poor guy, it felt so weird to him he did not know what to do! He loosend up a little and I think Kobin got some great shots. I cant wait to see them!
